Accessibility Statement
4word is committed to being accessible to all visitors, including people with disabilities. We treat accessibility as a core value and work to make this site accessible in line with the law - and beyond it - so that everyone can use it comfortably, independently, and with dignity.
The standard and law the site follows
This site was made accessible in accordance with Israel's Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Regulations (Accessibility Adjustments for a Service), 2013, and Israeli Standard IS 5568 - based on the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) - at conformance Level AA.
Accessibility level
The 4word site was designed and built with the requirements of IS 5568 and WCAG 2.0 Level AA in mind. We run automated checks and manual usability testing, and we work to fix the gaps we find. A documented human accessibility audit by a qualified reviewer has not yet been carried out, so we do not declare full conformance with the standard. If you run into a difficulty, contact us and we will offer a solution or an alternative way to receive the service.
What we did to make the site accessible
Among other things, the following adjustments were made:
- A floating accessibility menu, available on every page, for personalising the browsing experience.
- Increasing and decreasing text size, and widening spacing between words and letters.
- Color modes: high contrast, inverted colors, and grayscale.
- Highlighting links and headings for quick recognition of the page structure.
- A readable font and an enlarged mouse cursor.
- The ability to pause animations and motion, and respect for the operating system's "reduce motion" setting.
- Full keyboard navigation, a clear focus indicator, and screen-reader support via ARIA attributes and alternative text for images.
- A correct heading structure, standard-compliant color contrast, and full support for Hebrew (right-to-left) and English.
The accessibility menu
You can open the accessibility menu by clicking the floating accessibility icon at the bottom of the screen (bottom-right on the Hebrew site, bottom-left on the English site). Your chosen settings are saved in the browser and continue to apply across other pages and future visits.
Exceptions and known limitations
We invest ongoing effort in making the site accessible; even so, some parts may not yet be fully accessible, or third-party content outside our control may be inaccessible. We work to fix this as quickly as possible and are glad to provide an accessible alternative for any inaccessible content - please contact us and we'll help.
- A documented human accessibility audit by a qualified reviewer has not yet been carried out; what is reported here rests on the automated and manual checks we run ourselves.
- The animations on the home page and the personal-product page are driven by scrolling. They switch off automatically when the operating system is set to reduce motion, and they can also be switched off from the accessibility menu.
- The legal pages contain wide tables that scroll sideways inside their own frame; on a narrow screen horizontal scrolling may be needed to see every column.
- Third-party content outside our control, such as an external page this site links to, may not be accessible. We are glad to provide an accessible alternative for any such content.
Testing and browser compatibility
The site was tested on current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari, using keyboard navigation and the NVDA screen reader. For the best experience, we recommend using an up-to-date version of your browser and assistive software.
Reporting an accessibility problem
If you encounter a difficulty or an accessibility problem on the site, we'd be glad to hear from you. To help us respond quickly, please include the address of the page where the problem occurred, a short description of the problem, and the browser and assistive technology you used.
We acknowledge an accessibility request within two business days and answer it on the merits within five business days. You can also write to us directly at support@4word.io.
